Yankees Rumors Silent
by Scooter on 01/08/2010 in Yankees Blogs
The rumor mill has been quiet for the Yankees as of late with the exception of the Yankees and Pitcher Sergio Mitre agreeing on an $850,000, one-year contract. It’s kind of boring news to say the least. I was anticipating something much bigger from Cashman, but I guess it looks like they will play the cards they have. It’s a great hand to play because the Yankees have made improvements this year.
The Yankees are less than three months away when they play the Boston Red Sox at Fenway, April 4, 2010. It still seems so far away.
Yankees Transactions 2009 (The ones that were more meaningful)

- December 22, 2009: Traded OF Melky Cabrera, LHP Michael Dunn, RHP Arodys Vizcaino and cash considerations to Atlanta for RHP Javier Vazquez and LHP Boone Logan.
- December 13, 2009: Chien-Ming Wang – SP/RP – Not offered contract and became free agent by NY Yankees (non-tendered)
- December 10 2009: Andy Pettitte – SP – Signed as free agent by NY Yankees (one-year contract)
- December 10 2009: Jamie Hoffmann – RF – Traded from Washington to NY Yankees (to complete 12/7 Brian Bruney deal)
- December 9 2009: Curtis Granderson – CF – Traded from Detroit to NY Yankees (three-team, seven-player deal)
- December 9 2009: Phil Coke – RP – Traded from NY Yankees to Detroit (three-team, seven-player deal)
- December 9 2009: Austin Jackson – CF – Traded from NY Yankees to Detroit (three-team, seven-player deal)
- December 9 2009: Ian Kennedy – SP – Traded from NY Yankees to Detroit (three-team, seven-player deal)
- December 7 2009: Brian Bruney – RP – Traded from NY Yankees to Washington (for OF Jamie Hoffman)
The Yankees will be more active when the free agent market will be much richer with more studs in 2011. I can see it now, Carl Crawford to the Yankees.
