Stephen Strasburg Phenomenal!
by Scooter on 06/08/2010 in MLB News
Strike out after strike out, this kid is for real. Stephen Strasburg made only one mistake, a two run homer to Delwyn Young. The kid is phenomenal! He has 11 strike outs through 6 innings so far.
His fastball reaching 100 mph and nasty curveballs that for most players seemed impossible to hit, the Washington Nationals phenom struck out six of his first nine batters Tuesday night against Pittsburgh before a standing-room-only crowd.
I was so impressed with what I watched and only could imagine what Strasburg will do in his young career. I wish games were longer, because this kid was truly amazing.
Strasburg was promoted after dominating the minors, going 7-2 with a 1.30 ERA with 65 strikeouts and only 13 walks in 11 starts in Double-A and Triple-A. It was what every fan was waiting for and he proved that the hype was for real.
He will one day, without a doubt, be the strike out king.
He could tie or break the record of 15 strike outs in a MLB debut as a rookie. He has 14 at the end of 7. He needs one more to tie, if he pitches the 8th inning. But sadly he is done after 7.
14 Strike Outs in 7 innings!!! Strasburg get’s his first MLB Win!

I saw the highlights. The kid blew me away as he did to most of the batters he faced. Strasburg is indeed a phenom. Not only does he throw it hard he has some nasty action on the ball.
