Manny Being Manny Again

by on 02/23/2010 in MLB News

Manny RamirezAs dull as this might be, it’s Manny Ramirez talking too much about nothing. Manny has arrived at Dodger camp. He is in the final season of his contract that he signed last March with the Dodgers. He spent 50 games suspended last season due to PED. Manny, returned to hit .255 in the second half and .189 over the final month. This might have been the lack of testosterone his body has become accustom to.

Manny’s is not about the Dodgers playing to win another division title or to finally compete with the Philadelphia Phillies in the playoffs, but it’s all about him. More to the point, perhaps, who will pay him in his future. Manny, you’re now in your golden years of baseball and your track record will not bring you what you expect, just face it.

“I know I won’t be here next year,” he told reporters, feigning gleeful indifference, “so I’m just enjoying myself.”

Asked why he would think that, he said, “I don’t know. I just know I’m not going to be here.”

Poor Manny, poor Manny.

Wow, I didn’t realize that Manny hit so poorly after he came back from his drug suspension. It will be interesting to see how he does this year now that he is “unjuiced”. Also be interesting to see how his former JuiceMate, Mr. Ortiz does.

So glad the Yanks were smart enough to stay away from Manny. I also feel for Joe Torre having to put up with Manny.

So if the Unjuiced Manny only hits .237 this year what should we assume about his previous numbers?

    Mike,

He was stinking up the place when he returned.
