Before the Yanks get too caried away with the possible OF additions, why doesn't Kevin Long give Brett Gardner a "bottle-bat".
He would be such a doubles-triples hitter if he could learn to handle that bat the way Nellie Fox did in 1959. Where are you Kevin???

Yes, it is great being a Yankee fans these days. But I also lived through the late '60's and early '70's when the Yanks were a second tier team and had such legendary Yankees as Pete Ramos (P), Horace Clarke (2B), Stick Michaels (SS), Johnny Ellis (OF) and Ron Blomberg (OF). And of course who could forget the great Fritz Peterson (P) / Mike Kekich (P) wife swapping saga of 1971.

There was a long Dark Stretch when the Yankees were owned by CBS prior to George buying the team. The Mets winning in '69 made the pain worse.

Still, it's great to be a Yankees' fan. Especially during the last fifteen years.
